2026
FARM SHARE PARTNERSHIP
Registration Now Open

We’re excited to open up our 2026 Farm Share and look forward to another season of growing nourishing, thoughtfully grown food for our community.

How the Share Works

Our 2026 farm share runs for 18 weeks, split into two 9-week sessions, with one week off in between.

  • First pick-up begins the week of May 21st, 2026

  • Pick-up location: Substrata Farm, Beamsville

  • Pick-up days & times: Thursday-Saturday 10am-5pm (these will also be our Farm Store Hours for the 2026 Season)

We ask members to plan to pick up during these days most weeks. That said, we understand life happens and can be somewhat flexible if you’re unable to make it during the regular window - just reach out and let us know.

What You’ll Receive

Each week, your share will reflect what’s growing best in the fields. While the exact mix will change throughout the season, crops we grow include: Butter Crisp Salad Blend, Other Seasonal Salad Blends, Romaine, Micro Greens, Spinach, Kale, Bok Choy, Kohlrabi, Green Onions, Cooking Onions, Red Onions, Garlic, Swiss Chard, Carrots, Beets, Sprouting Broccoli, Turnips, Radishes, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Peppers, Zucchini, Beans, Fennel & Assorted Herbs.

We promise some kind of salad green in your share each week. Often there will be one type of sauteeable green, a type of onion, and a root crop as well. We do our best to provide a variety each week.

One Share Size

We offer one share size, best suited for a household of 2-4 people. Of course, this depends on how often you cook and how vegetable-forward your meals are. Approximately 5-7 different items can be expected in the share each week. Additional items are always available at our farm store at pick-up.

Farming Is a Shared Risk - and a Shared Reward

By signing up for a farm share, you’re also signing up to share in the realities of farming. If we lose a crop–say bok choy to flea beetles (this one happens often)–you may not see them in your share, or it may arrive blemished. We grow real, organic produce, and while it may not always look perfect, we promise the flavour and nutrition is there.

That said, there are also rewards. Summer baskets are often more abundant than spring, thanks to longer days, warmer temperatures, and crops that thrive in peak growing conditions. When things are growing well–like during a great tomato year–you’ll likely see those items show up week after week.

Communication, Recipes & Storage Tips

Each week you’ll receive an e-mail that includes:

  • A preview of what’s coming in your share

  • A couple recipe ideas

  • Storage tips and recommendations

This helps you plan meals and get the most out of your vegetables each week.

Pick-Up & Packaging

Most items come washed, though we still recommend rinsing again before use. Your weekly share will be packed into a reusable bin. You’re welcome to:

  • Take the bin home with you (available for a deposit of $5.00) and bring back each week, or;

  • Bring your own bags and unpack your share at pick-up

Cost

The cost for the full 18-week 2026 Farm Share is $500 ($27.78/week). We ask for a $200 deposit to save your spot.

FAQ

Can someone else pick-up my share? Absolutely! It’s nice if you let us know, but as long as they share your name at pick-up, we have no issues with passing your share along to someone else.

What if I don’t like an item in my share? We always recommend giving everything an additional try - turnips grown from our farm may taste different than you remember them. We might have some recipe ideas that change your mind about them! If you’re really sure about not enjoying something, we’ll be happy to swap it out with a different item.

What if I’m on vacation? Have someone else pick up your share to enjoy. We’re also happy to put your share off for a week and load you up with additional items the following week. Either storage crops, or additional items that you know you’ll enjoy. We try to be as accommodating as possible.
